Professional Bio

Ramirez counts motherhood as one of her greatest achievements, but it has also been the most challenging. Her daughter's diagnosis is Situs Inversus, which caused her to have multiple health abnormalities as well as complex heart defects. Learning that your child will be born with disabilities is scary. Trying to understand how to navigate this new journey with an atypical child can be even scarier. As a Parent Resource Coordinator, Ramirez strives to assist families by providing them with resources, support and information about services for individuals with disabilities and their families. Her hope is that with this additional support, a caregiver’s internal voice will be ignited and help them to recognize their value and potential as leaders to effectively advocate for their children’s needs.
