Professional Bio
Maag understands that being a parent can be hard, and having a child with a disability creates more challenges. When Maag’s son was young, he did not talk. Because he was healthy and understood what she asked, she thought he would learn in his own time. As a mom, Maag struggled to feel like she was doing enough to help him. When he started kindergarten, he finally got the help he needed. Maag’s seven, mostly adult children, all have their own unique challenges, and four have disabilities. Knowing that life is easier when you have the resources to be healthy parents and the support needed for your children to thrive, Maag uses her experiences to connect with parents and caregivers to help them find strength to face challenges.
Maag provides resources and support for families at the following locations:
- Independence Rising, Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
- BA: Psychology
- CPSS: Certified Peer Support Specialist
