Professional Bio

While attaining his Bachelor's Degree at Midland University in 2014, Sodawasser completed an internship as a behavior technician in the Severe Behavior Program and Virtual Care/In-home Early Intervention program at the Munroe-Meyer InstituteAfter graduating, Sodawasser stepped away from UNMC for a few months before realizing his passion remained in working with children with severe behavior diagnoses. Sodawasser returned to MMI’s Severe Behavior Department in 2014 as a behavioral technicianOver the next four years, Sodawasser continued to develop his skills as a behavioral therapist in the department as well as gain multiple other experiences in MMI's Pediatric Feeding Department, Autism Diagnostic Clinic, Early Intervention Program, School Consultation Program and Behavioral Health Clinic.

In 2018, Sodawasser acquired his BCBA and PLMHP and became a supervisor (BAS-II) in the Severe Behavior Department. While in this position, Sodawasser gained experience with parent training, staff supervision and coaching, as well as managing the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with behavioral diagnosesIn 2020, Sodawasser was promoted to a BAS-III, where he was able to help lead the department’s move to a new facilityHe has also been chosen to represent the department and institute in multiple projects, including but not limited to, Design Thinking Workshops, the Severe Behavior Department Director Search Committee and MMI’s Quality Assurance and Improvement CommitteeIn his current role, Sodawasser continues to assist in the supervision of severe behavior cases, but his concentration has shifted to a more organizational focus where he works to promote continued growth, development and improved efficiency throughout the department, institute and university.
