Professional Bio
Brandenburg joined MMI as an adaptive recreation therapist in 2007 after working as a special education teacher in the Omaha Public Schools. She was excited to join MMI after working in the recreational therapy department as a technician for 10 years, participating in adult and pediatric programming year-round.
Brandenburg feels privileged to be a part of the Camp Munroe family. She has known some of the participants and their families for half her life! She feels honored to be given the trust to care for and be a part of these family's lives. She finds a deep reward in celebrating the participant’s personal growth. She has found the true gift is to not only create opportunities for growth for participants but to mentor others to continue this rewarding work. While working collaboratively alongside part time staff, she has been able to see them develop invaluable skills in which they take with them as future physicians, therapists, teachers, nurses and advocates. The true teachers she feels are the participants who remind us every day of what is truly important, to work hard, celebrate this life we have and live without limits!
