Professional Bio

Bergeron is an Omaha native and has been with MMI since 2000. She started her physical therapy career working in neurological rehab (brain injury, spinal cord injury and stroke) in Kansas City, Missouri and Omaha, Nebraska. In 1995, she began serving students in the public schools as a school-based and Early Intervention physical therapist. She is also a Physical Therapy Residency faculty member and mentor to pediatric physical therapy residents. In her position as MMI-Omaha Public Schools' school-aged Physical Therapy Coordinator, she enjoys mentoring new staff and being a resource for current staff. She has collaborated with biomedical engineering students in a partnership between MMI and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for their senior community projects.

Bergeron enjoys volunteering with the GoBabyGo! Nebraska! partnership. Seeing children move on their own for the first time when using the modified cars fills her with joy. Bergeron has presented at regional conferences on why ‘movement matters’. She has been involved with the MMI PT Continuing Education Committee and the Omaha area Pediatric Physical Therapy Special Interest group. Bergeron values working at MMI because of our institute’s desire to be on the cutting edge with intervention and research. She loves working with children because they never cease to surprise and amaze her.
