Joseph H. Evans, PhD
Emeritus Professor, UNMC Department of Pediatrics and MMI Department of Psychology

Joseph Evans, PhD is an emeritus professor at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute and in the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics. Prior to his retirement, Evans provided clinical services as a licensed psychologist in the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute Department of Psychology.
Evans is a previous Director of the MMI Department of Psychology and the Division Director of Pediatric Psychology in the UNMC College of Medicine where he administered a staff of eleven psychologists, nine doctoral interns, five postdoctoral research associates, four graduate students in Applied Behavior Analysis and several support staff. He managed the Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Clinic at MMI where he provided clinical care as well as serving as a staff psychologist for the Douglas County Health and Human Services Children with Special Health Care Needs program.
Evans is the recipient of over $11,000,000 in grants and contracts from a variety of agencies including the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, Family Youth Service Bureau, Corporation for National and Community Service, Department of Justice, and Health Resources and Services Administration Graduate Psychology Education, Allied Health and Quentin Burdick grant programs. He was the 2008 recipient of the Cummings American Psychological Foundation Psyche Award, presented for his work in developing a model that integrates behavioral health into rural primary care practices.
