Erika Franta Bretscher, PhD

Erika Franta Bretscher, PhD, is an assistant professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute and a licensed psychologist in MMI's Department of Psychology. Franta Bretscher received her doctorate in school psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She completed her doctoral internship at Travis County Juvenile Probation in Austin, Texas and completed post-doctoral training at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

Franta Bretscher provides clinical consultation to a multi-disciplinary team serving youth currently detained in a local county, as well as offers training and technical assistance to regional and local educational and mental health teams in comprehensive school mental health systems. Additionally, she provides supervision and training in integrate care services and school-based psychoeducational assessment and consultation services. She previously served as the school mental health program director for the Mid-America Mental Health Technology Transfer Center and a co-coordinator for the Comprehensive School-Based Mental Health Training Program.
