Emily Loethen, PLP, LMHP

Emily Loethen, PLP, LMHP (she/her) is an associate professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute Department of Psychology. As a pediatric psychologist and licensed mental health provider, Loethen provides patient care through MMI’s Behavioral Pediatrics and Integrated Primary Care Program.

She received her PhD in school psychology from Oklahoma State University and  completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship with MMI, where she focused on integrating behavioral health and primary care, developed national resources for treatment of common pediatric concerns, and worked with schools and residential programs to support adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Loethen’s research interests include teleassessment practices, procedures for replication of intervention research, social-emotional supports for adults with disabilities, and effective behavioral health practices in primary care. Loethen has presented several talks and presentations at both national and local conferences. Topics have included best practices in teleassessment and best practices for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities attending medical visits. In addition to research involvement, Loethen has substantial experience providing clinical care to children and families with a focus on trauma-informed behavioral interventions.
