Burke graduated with high honors with her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in 2017 and went on to complete her master's degree in 2020 at the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Science. Her graduate training in genetic counseling included education in both medical genetics and psychosocial training to support families through complex molecular testing and diagnoses.

Previously, Burke was employed at an NCI-designated cancer center in Florida providing genetic counseling for both children and adults with suspected hereditary cancer syndromes. In her current role, Burke enjoys meeting children and adults for a wide variety of genetic indications, including neurodevelopmental disorders and congenital anomalies. She is particularly excited to help implement a new ophthalmic genetics service at the local children’s hospital. Burke finds her passion in the resilience, hope and advocacy of families in their genetics journey.

Burke provides patient care services at UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute Department of Genetic Medicine.
