Elizabeth Conover, MS, CGC

Elizabeth Conover, MS, APRN, CGC, is Friedland Family Professor and an associate professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute. Conover is double boarded as a genetic counselor and pediatric nurse practitioner and delivers patient care in the Department of Genetic Medicine at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute.

Conover currently works as a genetic counselor at the Children’s Nebraska cystic fibrosis clinic and North Platte outstate clinic, and supervises students who rotate through those clinics. As a genetic nurse practitioner, she also see patients in general genetics clinic, Down syndrome clinic and the fetal alcohol syndrome clinic at UNMC.

Her main area of interest is teratology (impact of exposures/medication during pregnancy and breast feeding) and she has taught a graduate teratology course for more than 15 years. She directs the Nebraska Teratogen Information Service (Nebraska Mother to Baby) and has been a board member of the Organization of Teratology Information Specialists.
