Professional Bio
Contreras joined the Department of Education and Child Development at the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC in 2023. She completes classroom observations and child assessments in various early childcare centers and schools across Nebraska. Contreras has been working with families and children professionally since 2007. She previously served as an early head start teacher at Educare of Omaha, Kellom and Indian Hill Schools, for seven years and as a first grade teacher with Papillion-La Vista Community Schools for nine years. Stefanie earned a bachelor’s in social work in 2006 from University of Nebraska at Omaha and a bachelor's in elementary education from the University of Colorado-Denver in 2012.
Contreras provides consultation and program evaluation through the Department of Education and Child Development at Munroe-Meyer Institute.
