Professional Bio
Villanueva earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and an English as a Secondary Language endorsement with Concordia University. Her previous experience includes working as an educator in various grade levels from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade for the dual language program at Omaha Public Schools, Archdiocese of Omaha Catholic Schools and overseas in the educational system of Peru for more than 16 years.
Villanueva has been part of UNMC since 2013. In her current position, she assists in coordinating multiple projects and leads the department’s bilingual team. She conducts individual child assessments and classroom observations in early childhood programs and schools across Nebraska. Villanueva also collaborates with her colleagues providing translation and interpretation in Spanish to meet their clients’ needs.
Villanueva provides consultation and program evaluation through the Department of Education and Child Development at Munroe-Meyer Institute.
