Melonie S. Welsh, MS

Melonie Welsh is an accomplished professional with nearly 40 years’ experience in the Omaha medical and philanthropic communities. Her deep and passionate commitment to the underserved population of individuals with developmental disabilities and complex health care needs has been demonstrated through her work as a cytotechnologist, genetic counselor, fetal care coordinator, development officer and board member. As director of Community Engagement at the Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center she creates synergies between providers, agencies and stakeholders to build ongoing, permanent relationships with MMI. These relationships result in the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources as well as partnerships and reciprocity, creating a collective vision to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities and complex health care needs. A native of Seward, Nebraska, Welsh obtained her undergraduate degree from Doane University and her graduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
