Wayne Stuberg, PT, PhD, PCS, FAPTA

Wayne Stuberg, PT, PhD, PCS, FAPTA, Emeritus Professor, currently serves as a consultant to the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation because of his previous administrative roles at the institute. Prior to retirement from the institute, Stuberg served as MMI's Director of Clinical Services and Director of its University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Program. Stuberg also served as the Associate Director of MMI and before that, Director of the Physical Therapy Department.

Stuberg is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, a past President of the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and past Chair of Board of Physical Therapy and Board of Health for the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Licensure and Credentialing. He served as President of the UNMC Faculty Senate and as a consultant for the state of Nebraska on the Governor’s Early Childhood Interagency Coordinating Council, and the Department of Education’s Special Education Advisory Council. He is currently serving as a member of the Nebraska Council on Developmental Disabilities.

Stuberg has presented at numerous state, national and international conferences on the topic of management of individuals with developmental disabilities. He has continuing involvement as a faculty member in the entry-level doctorate of physical therapy curriculum at UNMC and is a faculty member of the American Physical Therapy Association-accredited Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency program at MMI.

Stuberg’s research interests include gait analysis and outcomes of physical therapy treatment. He has been recognized as a distinguished researcher by both the Section on Pediatrics of the American Physical Therapy Association and UNMC. More recently he has been involved in program evaluation projects provided by the MMI University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities program in collaboration with state agencies.
