MMI team members serve our mission of transforming lives in many different ways.

The Munroe-Meyer Institute is Nebraska's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service.

Established at MMI in 1968, our UCEDD provides programs, supports and resources for families that promote independence, self-determination, productivity, integration and inclusion of all individuals with developmental disabilities.

Highly trained providers offer specialized services and individualized treatment programs across the lifespan for people with disabilities. Our interdisciplinary team approach welcomes parents and caregivers, teachers, therapists and community service providers, to ensure a comprehensive service plan for clients of all ages.

Our MMI Experience Pledge states that in all our activities we will work with each individual’s unique attributes – particularly their strengths – in order to personalize care that makes a meaningful difference.

MMI serves as the premier source of disability-related information for scientists, educators, clinicians, families, care providers and community leaders across the region, the nation and the world.

Academic Affairs provide inter-professional education, outreach training and technical assistance to empower future leaders in their fields.

MMI faculty offer expert training for health professionals for future care of people with disabilities.

Core grants fund training and outreach that fulfills MMI's mission and support core institute projects.

Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders Program at MMI improves the health of infants, children and adolescents with disabilities through interdisciplinary leadership training through building a qualified, family-centered and competent workforce to serve individuals with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities.

Leadership across all departments and programs is committed to achieving the highest standards in family-centered services.

Directors continuously work towards creating a culture that values individuality and belonging, and empowers our community to thrive in a safe and healthy environment.

MMI is a top research center that aims to transform diagnosis, care and treatment for individuals across the lifespan. Our research program conducts basic, applied, translational and evaluative research focused on the needs of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and complex health care needs.
