Denim for Disabilities

Denim for Disabilities is a community fundraising campaign raising funds and awareness for intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Denim for Disabilities is a fundraising event hosted by the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities, a supporting board of the Munroe-Meyer Institute.
Funds that are raised support the Evening Respite Program provided by specialists from MMI's Department of Recreational Therapy. Funds are also used to support other recreational opportunities for teens and adults with developmental disabilities in the greater Omaha area.
This event is scheduled one to two times per year, usually in the fall or winter.
How to Participate
- Ask your supervisor for approval to participate to be sure you are in compliance with departmental dress code.
- Give $1 and get one sticker. Or as many dollars/stickers as you'd like.
- Wear your sticker with your jeans to show your participation for the day and support for the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities.
Your Questions
Answers to questions about dollars, jeans and stickers.
With supervisor approval, yes. A $20 donation to the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities would permit you to wear jeans for each workday of the four-week fundraiser.
Nope, that's a free day.
- For those who already have casual Friday, a $16 donation would allow jeans on all the non-Fridays of the four-week fundraiser.
How kind and generous of you! Of course. Take your donation to the nearest Meyer Foundation for Disabilities representative.
We accept cash or checks made payable to Meyer Foundation for Disabilities or "MFD."
We don't care how many days you wear your sticker, but the idea is that you donate one dollar for each day you wear jeans. It's a fundraiser on the honor system.
Outside-the-box-thinking, outstanding!
- You can donate without wearing jeans.
- You can also purchase stickers and gift them to co-workers.
Proceeds support recreational therapy programs for adults with disabilities right here at the Munroe-Meyer Institute. Hundreds of families benefit from our programs and services each year.
Consider registering for the annual Walk and Roll for Disabilities in March, another wonderful Meyer Foundation for Disabilities fundraising event. Or, check out our other supporting board events.
We would love that. For more information, please contact the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities fundraising representative at MMI.
