Design Hub

Design Thinking campus co-director, Dr. Katherine Bravo (right), and a student in the Design Hub

The Design Hub collaboration area fosters innovative problem-solving among students, faculty and staff. It features flexible workspace, prototyping supplies and interactive digital platforms that allow for brainstorming and rapid idea development. The Design Hub (Wittson Hall, Room 6004) promotes connection across health care and research disciplines, encouraging users to tackle complex challenges with a fresh perspective.

The UNMC community may use the Design Hub anytime the room is available or can reserve time in advance by contacting the library’s AskUs desk. It can be used by individuals or small groups, independently or with a facilitator from UNMC’s Design Thinking team.

The Design Hub is equipped with Vibe Boards, whiteboards, and materials for brainstorming and presenting ideas. Vibe Boards provide the capability for interactive two-way collaboration. Guides and templates for design thinking activities and a collection of related books are available. Work on a team project or explore new solutions and perspectives in the Design Hub: everything in the space supports creative exploration.

The Design Hub was funded in part by an NU Collaboration Initiative Grant awarded for 2023-2025 to faculty and staff from UNO, UNL and UNMC.
