Program Director
Dr. Tammy Wichman is the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director and a professor in the division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine.
She received her BS in physics at Creighton University and subsequently married her physics lab partner. He joined the US Navy and she graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine.
She then followed her husband to Virginia where she did her Medicine-Pediatrics residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and had two babies. Dr. Wichman then stayed at VCU for her Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship.
Dr. Wichman loves rounding in the ICU and resident and student teaching. When she isn’t busy with her five children, she enjoys running half marathons.
