Chad Vokoun, MD

Associate Program Director

Dr. Chad Vokoun

Dr. Chad Vokoun is an associate program director for the Department of Internal Medicine's residency program and division chief of hospital medicine. Dr. Vokoun attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney and received his bachelor's degree in biology. He also played college football. Dr. Vokoun completed all of his medical training at UNMC and served as Chief Resident at the Omaha VA Medical Center in 2003-2004. His clinical interests include hospital medicine and perioperative care.

He is active nationally in the Society of Hospital Medicine and ACLGIM. His educational interests include resident and student teaching and assessment, transitions of care and perioperative medicine. Dr. Vokoun enjoys outdoor activities, cooking and sports of all kind. He is married to Dr. Allison Cushman-Vokoun, MD, PhD., who is a faculty member at UNMC in Pathology.
