Dr. Abughanimeh is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2014 from Jordan University of Science & Technology. After that, he worked for a year as an intern at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan before moving to Kansas City, MO to join the internal medicine residency program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During his residency training 2016-2019, he was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
In 2019, he joined UNMC for hematology and medical oncology fellowship, which he completed in 2022. During his training at UNMC, Dr. Abughanimeh received two national awards for his research from the American Society of Hematology in 2020 and the American Society of Clinical Oncology/Conquer Cancer Foundation in 2021.
Dr. Abughanimeh is actively engaged in medical practice, teaching, and clinical research and specializes in the care of patients with thoracic malignancies, i.e., lung cancers, mesothelioma, and thymus tumors, in addition to head and neck cancers.
