Application

We have two positions available for 2025-2026. We accept candidates who may require J1 or H1b visa sponsorship. We review all applications.

Candidates who need H1b sponsorship should note that, according to UNMC policy, accepted candidates are required to pay for H1-b Premium Processing from their own personal funds.

We have both ACGME-accredited and non-ACGME accredited pathways for this fellowship. For the ACGME-accredited pathway, the candidate must have completed three years of Gastroenterology Fellowship training. For the non-accredited pathway, the candidate must have completed three years of Internal Medicine Residency training.

Application Checklist

Thank you for your interest in the Transplant Hepatology fellowship program, a UNMC-sponsored GME program. Below is a list of items needed and how to submit your application.

Deadline
The application deadline is Dec. 18, 2024. Incomplete applications on Dec. 18, 2024, will not be considered. Interviews will be conducted between Aug. 1, 2024, to Feb. 27, 2025.
Document Checklist
  • Curriculum Vitae

  • ECFMG certificate (if applicable; must be complete prior to applying)
  • Copies of original transcripts from NBME (USMLE scores Steps 1, 2 and 3) or NBOME (COMLEX scores.

  • Letters of recommendation (minimum of 3 – our program requires 3. Copies will be accepted). The signed letters of recommendation must be related to Transplant Hepatology Fellowship and must be sent to terah.riddle@unmc.edu by the letter writers (or their assistant).

  •  Medical School Letter of Evaluation (MSPE) Copies will be accepted.

  •  Personal Statement. Please write a current one for this TH application.

  •  Certificate or Diploma from Internal Medicine Program (for those who have already completed three years of IM.

  •  Certificate or Diploma from Gastroenterology Program, if applicable (for those who have already completed three years of GI)

  •  ABIM Board Certificate (if applicable)
