Debra J. Romberger, MD, Internal Medicine Chair
"The department's greatest asset is its people -- faculty, trainees and staff who are very talented and work hard to provide high quality care to our patients and education to our students and trainees while also seeking to answer important questions with our research programs. The department has a rich tradition of leadership and growth and I am privileged to be a part of leading us into our next steps of even further growth and national recognition."
Our Faculty
More than 300 physicians and scientists comprise the internal medicine faculty. They are experienced clinicians, accomplished researchers, and talented educators. Our faculty is a metropolitan group of well-trained professionals who all understand the need to work as a team to accomplish our overriding goal of enhancing the health of all Nebraskans.
Our Residency and Fellowship Programs
About 150 physicians annually train in our renowned residency and fellowship programs. Over the past 15 years, we have a 98 percent board pass rate for the Internal Medicine Board, and for good reason: The curriculum offers a strong foundation with well-defined objectives, 14 subspecialty electives and a wide array of rotations here at the medical center and elsewhere in the U.S., as well as in South Africa.
