Delegation from Republic of Togo tours UNMC
UNMC hosted a delegation representing the Republic of Togo in May, including the African nation’s ambassador to the United States. The guests were Ambassador Frédéric Edem Hegbe; Counselor Kaburou Soumani; Mayor Koamy Gbloekpo Gomado, of Lome, Togo, and his wife, Akouavi Akpedje Kodja; Philipe Bruce; and Fafa Assignon.

Inquiring UNL retirees visit UNMC, Davis Global Center
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Emeriti and Retiree Association visited UNMC earlier this month. After a welcome from UNMC Chancellor and incoming University of Nebraska President Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, the group toured the iEXCEL program at the Dr. Edwin & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center. The group, containing several retired faculty members, grilled tour host Michael Hollins of iEXCEL as if he were defending a thesis.

Hytens visit UNMC for tour with leadership
The Hytens met with Lt. Col. Elizabeth Schnaubelt, MD, director of C-STARS (Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills)-Omaha, and joined Vice Chancellor for External Relations Chris Kratochvil, MD, and James Lawler, MD, for a tour of the Training, Simulation and Quarantine Center in the Global Center for Health Security.

The Magicians of Medical Imagery
To pull off the custom, anatomically correct, 3D-content for health education classes, iEXCEL calls on its team of designers, artists and animators with experiences from Hollywood to Netflix to the gaming industry to bring that science to life for UNMC students. No less than the success of the program depends on these talented artists and technologists.

iEXCEL awards honor excellence in clinical simulation
UNMC’s iEXCEL program presented its fourth annual iEXCEL Innovation Awards at a ceremony March 12 at the Davis Global Center. The awards recognize excellence in academics and teaching through iEXCEL collaborations, clinical simulation, interprofessional education and more.
