NBC A second human case of eastern equine encephalitis has been confirmed in New Hampshire, state health officials said.
The New Hampshire Department of Health said an adult from Kensington began experiencing symptoms of EEE on Aug. 8, and was then hospitalized. That person is now recovering at a rehabilitation facility.
EEE is a rare but potentially life-threatening disease that affects the central nervous system.
