and speaking of the Golden Globes, I would like to talk about Jennifer Coolidge and (spoiler alert) why did season 2 of the White Lotus end the way it did?
(ABC) In the wake of the Golden Globes last week, several celebrities said they have tested positive for COVID-19. At least four stars, including Jamie Lee Curtis and Michelle Pfeiffer, revealed they contracted the virus following the awards show. In response, the Critics Choice Awards, which was held on Sunday, announced that all attendees would be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test before entering the venue.
So we all know that COVID is among us, and sometimes tests fail, and if you are going into an indoor venue with lots of people why not wear a MASK? Anyway, onto the topic of (my) interest, have you watched HBO’s White Lotus? I didn’t know it existed either until I saw posts about in on FB. Yellowstone is on a hiatus, and it’s winter and awful outside, so why not? It’s not for everyone, but the satire and quirk is highly entertaining! Season one was set in Hawaii in a fictional resort for the rich called the White Lotus (bonus, there are ZERO COVID cases at the White Lotus!) It’s there that we meet Tanya McQuoid, she’s a train wreck, but you can’t not watch, yet cringe at the same time. Unexpected twist at the season finale of season 1!
Season 2 we meet Tanya again, this time in an amazing White Lotus resort in Sicily! I’ll leave it right here and let everyone catch up. Grab a bottle of Italian wine and watch, then we can discuss why it had to end that way.
