- C-STARS
  C-STARS, the Center for Sustainment of Trauma Readiness Skills- Omaha is a collaboration between UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, and the Air Force Research Laboratory’s School of Aerospace Medicine. C-STARS Omaha works closely with UNMC’s Global Center for Health Security, iEXCEL, and the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit to take advantage of the medical center’s capabilities and expertise in biopreparedness training and research.

Child dies from Nipah virus in Rajshahi

(Bangladesh news) Sowad drank date juice on Friday morning and felt fever and convulsions. As he fell unconscious, the family members admitted him to the hospital in the afternoon, said Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Intensive Care Unit in-charge Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal. He said that they transferred Sowad to the ICU on Saturday morning as his condition deteriorated. The child tested positive for Nipah virus on Sunday evening and died on Monday while undergoing treatment at the hospital, according to Kamal.
