Program Manager
Mark Vazquez joined UNMC in 2021. In his current role as a program manager he works with innovation development, training, process improvement, regional, national and international response programs. Mark has been assigned to multiple health security programs and initiatives including the Region VII Disaster Health Ecosystem (https://www.regionviidhre.com/) and the National Infection Control Strengthening for Small and Rural Hospitals. Previously, he served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force at the unit, major-command, and Air Force Headquarters level. Throughout his career, Mark has performed a myriad of roles including medical/surgical technician career field manager, executive director (command chief), drug demand reduction program administrator, and personnel reliability program manager. During his leisure time Mark enjoys flyfishing, kayaking and camping.
