Current Faculty and Staff
It is important that students are provided the opportunity to submit an anonymous course evaluation at the end of the term each time that a course is offered.
- A few course evaluation examples/templates can be found below. Faculty should feel free modify these templates as appropriate to meet the needs of each specific course.
- Faculty who have already developed course evaluation forms may continue to utilize those existing resources.
Regardless of the evaluation tool(s) utilized, the Dean of Graduate Studies has requested that compiled evaluations for each graduate-level course be submitted to the Graduate Studies Office after the end of each semester. This process will ensure that appropriate documentation is available for purposes of program evaluation, UNMC accreditation, or if otherwise required by the university.
Nominees for Graduate Faculty status in the University of Nebraska Graduate College "must hold the rank of Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or equivalent (or above)." Because there is no Senior Lecturer rank at UNMC, the Graduate Council approved a proposal to consider the Instructor rank at UNMC to be the equivalent of Senior Lecturer.
UNMC Instructors who seek Graduate Faculty designation must apply (be nominated) for such status and be evaluated with regard to the eligibility criteria through the procedure detailed in the Graduate College Policy Handbook.
The Graduate Studies Office will provide $5,000 to the research program of the individual UNMC faculty member primarily responsible for the preparation/submission of a T-grant application that includes pre-doctoral stipends. A maximum of two such awards will be funded UNMC-wide during each fiscal year, with the recipients selected based on NIH percentile scores.
For each funded NIH T-grant, the Graduate Studies Office will provide support for the training program in the form of both:
- One graduate student assistantship (at the standard UNMC stipend level) per year for the duration of the T-grant
- Administrative costs ranging from $8,000 annually (programs with two pre-doctoral slots) to $12,000 annually (programs with six pre-doctoral slots) for the duration of the T-grant
