International Scholars
We are excited that you have chosen UNMC to enhance your academic and professional backgrounds.
The Office of Global Engagement serves as a key resource to the UNMC community of international scholars and their families. We provide professional expertise and support to the scholars from the time of their arrival to their departure. We also help scholars maintain their immigration status and provide information about Social Security Numbers, tax information, visa extensions, and changes/adjustments of status.
Our office also is here to assist UNMC departments with the immigration paperwork for international faculty, staff and scholars who come to the university for research, teaching, observation, and other professional activities. Find information about the J-1, H-1B, O-1, TN and permanent residency statuses in the Immigration and Visa Sponsorship section.
