Discovery of Lens Epithelium-Derived Protein

Lens epithelium-derived protein, a protein essential for ER-Golgi homeostasis (quality control)

Dr. Singh’s research team believes that there is a need to isolate and characterize more new genes in the eye lens in order to better understand lens biology. To this end, the group isolated and cloned. This protein with a molecular mass of 132kD protects cells from ER-stress by correcting unfolded protein response. Now his team is exploring the molecular mechanism of action of this protein.
