Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer
And Allied Diseases
Tomorrow's cancer researchers are trained at the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases.
The Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases is a multidisciplinary cancer research institute at UNMC. The institute was created in 1960 with a $2.5 million grant from the Eugene C. Eppley Foundation and funds from the National Institutes of Health and the University of Nebraska.
The growth in cancer research and clinical programs led to the construction of a 625,000 square feet, $323 million state-of-the-art cancer research and clinical care facility which opened to the public in 2017. The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center includes 98 research laboratories devoted to cancer research and is home to the Eppley Institute.
