University of Nebraska Medical Center

Nebraska Center for Molecular Target Discovery & Development

Our center is working to establish and expand physical and intellectual resources at UNMC and throughout the University of Nebraska system, in order to catalyze the identification, validation, and development of novel targets and potential therapies for clinically important diseases.

We are an NIH/NIGMS-supported Center of Biomedical Research Excellence, and we support faculty research projects, as well as research cores for computational chemistry, small-molecule, RNAi and CRISPR/Cas9 screening, proteomics and metabolomics, and organoid development.

Research Cores

In addition to these cores, we are working to develop additional specialized facilities and services to support the research of the center, its members and participants, as well as other institutional investigators.

Our Director

Center Director Robert Lewis, PhD, is an endowed professor in the UNMC Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases and co-leader of the Targets, Modulators and Delivery Program at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center of UNMC and Nebraska Medicine.
