FallProof™ Balance & Mobility Training

Description: 12-week progressive program designed to address the multiple dimensions that contribute to balance & mobility. Benefits include: pre-assessment for balance impairments, improved seated & standing posture, improved walking ability, strategies that will help improve the ability to recover from a loss of balance, increased confidence and reduced fear of falling, improved performance of activities of daily living, and post-assessment. This is a structured group exercise class led by one of Nebraska’s only certified FallProof™ instructors!

Offered: Class meets 2 times per week, for 12 weeks. Our next session begins Tuesday, March 5 and runs through Thursday, May 23. 

Cost: $100.00 Engage Wellness Members, $150.00 Non-members

FallProof™ was recognized in 2003 by the National Council on Aging as one of seven exemplary model programs in the U.S. promoting healthy aging and improved quality of life. This program is based on a model developed and validated at the Center for Successful Aging, Cal State University, Fullerton.

National Diabetes Prevention Program

Description: One-year evidence-based program designed to help you make lifestyle changes, to improve your overall health and reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. By improving food choices and increasing physical activity, you can lose 5-7% of your body weight. If you have pre-diabetes, these lifestyle changes can reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more than 50% (71% in people over 60). Now is the time to take charge of your health!

Offered: Weekly for the first 16 weeks, then monthly for 8 months.
