Summer Research Program
The Department of Emergency Medicine's basic science summer research program is open to Nebraska residents attending Nebraska universities, with opportunities for both an undergraduate student and a medical student.
Undergraduate Student
The student selected for this research experience will initially shadow a lab member to learn physiological, biochemical and molecular techniques. The student will then have the opportunity to use these techniques to conduct experiments designed by our basic science team.
The student is also expected to attend all lab research activities, such as lab meetings, discussion of research papers and seminars related to our research. At the conclusion of the 10-week session, the student will provide a short presentation discussing their activities and experiences.
Applicants should submit the following materials and application in email to Jenny May by April 1, 2024.
- Completed application for the program
- Curriculum vitae or resumé
- One letter of reference
The program will begin May 28, 2024, provided all onboarding activities are completed at that time, and run for 10 weeks. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend.
