Shaila Coffey, MD, is originally from Iowa and is a graduate of Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services. She obtained her medical degree and completed her emergency medicine residency at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She then completed her training with a fellowship at the University of Iowa in emergency medical services. Currently, she is an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and program director for the EMS fellowship at UNMC.
Dr. Coffey has over 10 years of experience in emergency medical services, working as a paramedic prior to becoming a physician. She is an active member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Services Physicians and American College of Emergency Physicians.
