This is the first module of a 5-part series that provides requisite knowledge for any health profession student about the U.S. healthcare system in an informative, interactive, one-hour course. This module introduces a simple, conceptual, model for understanding the complex U.S. healthcare system, and subsequent modules reinforce the model by examining patterns in U.S. healthcare reform over the past 100 years. The series can be used as a stand-alone mini-course or as supplemental information for a more extensive health system course.
