Outdoor Air Pollution: Sources & Controls

The World health organization defines air pollution as the contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by any chemical, physical, or biological agent that modifies the natural characteristics of the atmosphere. Although both indoor and outdoor air pollution are both important factors in public health this module will focus primarily on the sources and controls of outdoor air pollution.

Upon successful compilation of this learning module, you will be able to:

  • Describe the types of Air Pollutants.
  • Identify how these air pollutants affect human health.
  • Explain the controls of Air Pollutants.
