Receptors & Drug Actions

This module focuses on the relationship between drugs/ligands and receptors. The goal of this module is to provide the individual viewer with the background knowledge on two fundamental concepts: 1) drug properties such as affinity, potency, and efficacy and 2) how drugs act on receptors (i.e. agonist vs antagonist action). These fundamental concepts will lay the foundation for deeper pharmacological understanding as they can be applied to a variety of drugs-receptor interactions in order to understand how different drugs affect the body.
