Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy
The Continuing interProfessional Development and Innovation department at the UNMC College of Nursing is committed to providing a valuable educational experience. We understand that circumstances may arise that require participants to cancel or withdraw from an activity. This policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellation and withdrawal from our programs.
Cancellation by Participant
- Notice Requirement: To receive a refund, cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the our office before the specified deadline, typically 30 days before the activity's start date unless otherwise noted.
- Processing Fee: All cancellations are subject to a non-refundable processing fee, which will be detailed in the specific activity's registration information.
- Refund Eligibility: Refunds will be issued (less the processing fee) if the cancellation request is received before the specified deadline. No refunds will be granted after this deadline.
- Special Circumstances: In cases of emergency or unforeseen circumstances, our office may consider exceptions to the refund policy on a case-by-case basis. Documentation may be required.
Withdrawal by Participant
- Withdrawal Procedure: Participants wishing to withdraw from a course or activity after it has begun must notify the our office in writing.
- Refunds for Withdrawal: Withdrawals after the start of the activity are generally not eligible for a refund. Exceptions may be made for significant reasons, such as a medical emergency, with appropriate documentation.
- Impact on Certification: Withdrawing from a course may affect your eligibility for certification or continuing education credits. It is the participant’s responsibility to understand these consequences before withdrawing.
Cancellation by Our Office
- Activity Cancellation: Our office reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any activity due to low enrollment, instructor availability, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Refunds: In the event that our office cancels an activity, participants will be offered the option of a full refund or the opportunity to transfer their registration to another activity.
- Notification: Participants will be notified as soon as possible in the event of a cancellation. Our office is not responsible for travel or other costs incurred by participants.
Transfer of Registration
- Request for Transfer: Participants who cannot attend an activity may request to transfer their registration to another activity or participant. Transfer requests must be made in writing and may be subject to a processing fee.
- Approval: Transfers are subject to availability and approval by our office. Requests should be made before the original activity’s cancellation deadline.
Insufficient Funds
- Processing Fee: A $35 fee will be assessed for any payments returned due to insufficient funds. Participants will be notified and must arrange alternative payment promptly to retain their registration.
