Area(s) of Emphasis:
Heart Diseases, Pediatric Cancer, Genetics Development Exposures & Injuries
Research Interests:
Leukemia, Myeloid, GATA Factors
Current Research Summary:
Our group is interested in malignant and benign hematopoiesis. We study the development of myeloid and erythroid cell lineages, mechanisms of red blood cell regeneration in anemia (particularly receptor tyrosine kinase signaling), and leukemia progression. We are interested in other areas of non-malignant hematology as well, with a focus on transcriptional control by GATA factors. Our collaborative work on campus is developing single cell technologies to look at patient heterogeneity and transcription in stem/progenitor cells.
