Current Research Summary:
Water plays a major role in human health. The Birth Outcomes and Water (BOW) study examines maternal exposure to drinking water contaminants and health of offspring (bow.unl.edu). Sometimes contaminants occur as mixtures in drinking water supplies and, after ingestion, can form compounds that are more toxic than the single components. We seek to better understand the health impacts of exposure to drinking water containing agricultural chemicals in genetically unique populations.
