Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Long Term Language Outcomes, Language Deficits, Higher Level Language and Cognitive Deficits

Current Research Summary:

As a speech team, we are interested in looking at patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and their long term higher level language and cognitive skills. We have developed a protocol we have been using in treating these patients during treatment that is language rich. We want to study the efficacy of this in reducing long term language impairments. There is current research indicating long term implications related to language for these patients but no current research regarding how we can improve outcomes during treatment.
