Completed 2 year NIH funded Clinical Research Fellowship at St. Louis Children's Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis in the laboratory of pediatric surgeon Dr. Brad Warner, studying the intestinal adaptation and metabolic changes after massive small bowel resection.
Implemented expedited discharge protocol for Nuss repair patients at Children's Hospital & Medical Center - Omaha that resulted in a decrease in postoperative length of stay from 4.4 days to 1.8 days and decrease in narcotic use by 35%.
