Call for Abstracts

The symposium planning committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for the 2024 UNMC Transplant Symposium.

The deadline for abstract submission is Jan. 12, 2024.

Guidelines

  1. The abstract must be in the English language.
  2. The entire abstract including the title block (abstract title and author information) must fit on a single page and may contain figures, images, and tables.
    • Paper size: 8.5" x 11" (letter size)
    • Margins: 1" (top, bottom, left, and right)
    • Text/Paragraph alignment: left justify and single space
  3. The abstract must include the following:
    • Abstract Title – all in uppercase letters
    • Author(s) name(s) with the presenter's name underlined. Initials or first names must precede the last name
    • Author's institutional affiliations including city, state, and country
    • Five distinct section headers:
      • Background
      • Methods
      • Results
      • Conclusions
      • References
  4. The abstract must be submitted online in .doc or .docx format.
    • The title of the file must include the presenter's name (e.g., Smith-Transplant-abstract.docx)
    • No fax or hard copy submission will be accepted
  5. The presenting author must complete and submit a Conflict of Interest Form
    • The title of the COI form must include the presenter's name (e.g., Smith-Transplant-COI.pdf)
    • No fax or hard copy submission will be accepted
  6. The UNMC Center for Continuing Education will not edit abstracts for typing, spelling, or grammatical errors. Please carefully check all text for errors before submitting your abstract.
  7. No abstract will be accepted after the deadline.

Decision Notification

  • An email notification will be sent to the presenting author by Friday, Jan. 26, 2024.
  • The presenting author must register for the symposium, prepare and present during their assigned session time.

 

Presentation Format

  • The symposium planning committee will select up to five abstracts for oral presentation at the symposium. Each accepted abstract presenter will have 10 minutes to give an oral slide presentation of their work. The session will be moderated with time reserved for questions from the audience.
  • The remainder of the accepted abstracts will be featured in poster sessions where attendees and presenters will engage in interactive discussions.
    • The symposium organizer will provide the display board for mounting your poster. The recommended poster size is 48" in height by 72" in width.
    • You must bring your assembly materials such as pushpins, Velcro, tape, etc.
