7th Annual Scary Cases Conference
The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is hosting our 7th Annual Scary Cases Conference! This case-based conference is designed to review real-life, unique, and rare cases in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, and oral surgery. We invite participants to submit the scariest of cases to be presented and discussed in an open, collaborative forum.

Conference Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:
- Demonstrate how to detect otolaryngologic conditions that can easily be missed in a routine exam.
- Identify potential pitfalls inherent to the practice of otolaryngology that may lead to adverse outcomes or put patients at risk.
- Discuss legal principles of medical malpractice and identify ways to minimize the risk of malpractice in the everyday practice of otolaryngology.
- Recognize the role of each of our collaborating departments in treating patients with head and neck pathologies.
- Apply lessons learned from the management of particularly tough cases to clinical practice.
Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other health care personnel in the fields of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, and oral surgery.
Call for Scary Cases
We invite participants to submit the scariest of cases to be presented and discussed in an open, collaborative forum during the conference. The registration fee will be waived for physicians and APPs who answer our call for scary cases BEFORE registering for the conference. Submit your case via email to ent@unmc.edu by October 1, 2024.

(This fee is waived if you submit a scary case before registering for the conference. The deadline to submit a scary case is Oct.1. The discount code will be sent via email within 72 hours of submission of a scary case.) - Free for nurses and other health care professionals
