2024 Hematology Highlights: A Post-ASH Review (In-Person)

This year's conference is designed to update the target audience on new treatments and management of acute and chronic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative neoplasms, bleeding disorders, as well as myths and sciences behind dietary recommendations for patients with cancer as presented during the 2023 annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology.

3rd Annual Cancer Risk and Prevention Symposium (Hybrid)

This symposium is designed to highlight the field of cancer prevention by bringing health care professionals and researchers together for a multidisciplinary discussion. Main conference topics will include access to cancer screenings in rural populations, universal genetic testing, multi-cancer detection tests, early onset colon cancer, and the psychosocial impact of hereditary cancer. Additional breakout topics for clinicians and researchers include hereditary endocrine cancer syndromes, hereditary pediatric cancer syndromes, whole-body MRI for screening, the latest research, and lightning poster presentations.
Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum (In-Person)

The Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum provides an opportunity for young researchers from the health sciences, graduate, intern, and resident programs throughout the Midwest to present their research in the biomedical sciences. Comprehensive Parkinson's Disease Care (Hybrid)

This course will provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to the management of Parkinson’s Disease. Topics will include diagnosis and initial management, management of advancing Parkinson’s, the future of treatment, cognitive changes, autonomic dysfunction, weight loss and exercise with Parkinson’s, the role of speech therapy and deep brain stimulation. The activity is designed to enhance the training of PD care providers and was prepared and curated by Movement Disorder’s Fellowship-trained neurologists at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine.

The Nebraska Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative (NPQIC) provides evidence-based knowledge and expertise to providers and nurses caring for mothers and newborns. The 2024 NPQIC Fall Summit will cultivate a deeper understanding of the complex landscape influencing disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes. Sessions will equip health care teams with the most up-to-date practices around nutrition in pregnancy, syphilis in the perinatal period, substance use in pregnancy, engaging patient partners in quality improvement (QI), and understanding data for QI.
