2023 Heart and Vascular Conference: State of the Heart
Cardiovascular medicine is a rapidly advancing field with new medical therapies, devices, and procedures emerging. It can be challenging for health care providers to maintain knowledge of said advancements in the various aspects of cardiovascular medicine as well as cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. A myriad of new and novel approaches to the management of this diverse field of medicine includes:
- Diagnosis and Management of Cardiomyopathies
- Advanced Heart Failure Therapies
- Ischemic Heart Disease
- Valvular and Structural Heart Disease
- Management of Aortic Disease
- Pulmonary Hypertension, Pulmonary Embolism, and Right Heart Failure
- Cardiogenic Shock
- Electrophysiology and Advanced Arrhythmias
This conference will provide an overview of the contemporary management of the aforementioned cardiovascular disease processes in a concise and up-to-date manner.
Conference Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:
- Discuss new evidence-based cardiovascular medical approaches in the treatment and management of cardiovascular diseases including arrhythmias, aortic/valvular diseases, cardiogenic shock, and other structural heart diseases.
- Identify the specialized use of new devices in the management, diagnosis, and procedural treatment of patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, transplantation, and/or other cardiovascular conditions.
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of the health care team when managing cardiovascular diseases from the assessment, evaluation, and management perspectives.

If you need to cancel your registration, please email conted@unmc.edu no later than Sept. 21, 2023. There is a $30 processing fee for cancellations made by Sept. 21. Cancellations made after this date and registrants who fail to attend are responsible for the full registration fee.
