Call for Abstracts

Abstract submission is now closed.

The conference organizers welcome the submission of abstracts of presentations, workshops, and posters that complement the overall theme "Collaborating for Competency: Promoting Interprofessional Education and Practice" to be presented at the 5th Annual Heartland Interprofessional Education Conference.

 

Guidelines

  1. The abstract must be in the English language.
  2. The abstract must be submitted online in .doc or .docx format.  The title of the file must include the presenter's name (e.g., Smith-HIPE-abstract.docx). No fax or hard copy submission will be accepted.
  3. The UNMC Center for Continuing Education will not edit abstracts for typing, spelling, or grammatical errors. Please carefully check all text for errors before submitting your abstract.
  4. The presenting author(s) must register and pay the registration fee for the conference.
  5. Each presenting author must complete and submit a Conflict of Interest form. Make sure to include the presenter's name in the title of the file (e.g., Smith-HIPE-coi.pdf). No fax or hard copy submission will be accepted.
  6. All additional authors on the submitted abstract must also complete a COI form. You may upload up to five COIs when submitting your abstract. If there are more than five authors, please email the forms to Jackie Farley along with a copy of the submitted abstract.

Presentation Formats

Oral Presentation

A presentation describing important interprofessional research or innovations in curriculum, assessment, policy, or practice. (20 minutes presentation + 10 minutes Q&A)

Submissions should include the following sections: (max 500 words)

  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion
  • References
Workshop

An interactive session focused on participants who can expect to develop practical skills and/or gain useful knowledge as a result of their participation. (90 minutes)

Submissions should include the following sections: (max 500 words)

  • Background
  • Learner outcomes
  • Description of activities
  • Workshop timeline
  • Equipment/AV needs (anything beyond computer, projector, and internet)
  • References
Poster

A visual representation of the author's work where he/she can discuss the results of his/her work with conference attendees. The poster may represent a work in progress.

Submissions should include the following sections: (max 500 words)

  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion
  • References

The conference organizers will provide a 4' x 6' display board for mounting your poster. You must bring your own assembly materials such as pushpins, Velcro, tape, etc.

No abstract will be accepted after the deadline.


Submission Confirmation

Notification of Acceptance

Notification of abstract acceptance will be sent via email by Thursday, July 6, 2023.
