2nd Annual Contemporary Management of Cancer Risk and Prevention Symposium
This symposium will provide an update on cancer risk and prevention management for breast, ovarian, and several other cancers, with an emphasis on genetic testing and screening guidelines as stated by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Additional topics will include cancer prevention, lung cancer screening, direct-to-consumer testing, hereditary cancer syndromes associated with skin and genitourinary cancers, and disparities in genetics.
Symposium Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Identify patients at increased risk for cancer, related to family history or genetic mutations.
- Review updated evidence-based guidelines for cancer risk and prevention including genetic testing, high-risk cancer screening, and risk-reducing surgeries.
- Discuss case studies with the team members involved in the Cancer Risk and Prevention Multidisciplinary Clinic.

Physicians

Nurses
The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this activity for 6.50 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should only claim credit for the actual time spent participating in the activity.

This activity has been approved for The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) credit.

Registration Deadlines
- The deadline to register for in-person attendance is Feb.17.
- The deadline to register to attend the live stream via Zoom is Feb. 22.
Cancel/Refund Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing and sent by mail, fax, or email to the UNMC Center for Continuing Education. A refund of the registration fee, less $25 processing fee, will be given if the request is received by Feb. 17, 2023. No refund will be given after this date.
