Cancer Risk and Prevention Symposium (Attendee Information)

This site is intended for registered participants of the 2nd Annual Contemporary Management of Cancer Risk and Prevention Symposium held Feb. 24 at the UNMC Truhlsen Campus Events Center, Omaha, NE, and live stream via Zoom.

Cancer Risk and Prevention SymposiumThis symposium will provide an update on cancer risk and prevention management for breast, ovarian, and several other cancers, with an emphasis on genetic testing and screening guidelines as stated by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Additional topics will include cancer prevention, lung cancer screening, direct-to-consumer testing, hereditary cancer syndromes associated with skin and genitourinary cancers, and disparities in genetics.

Symposium General Information

Information for In-Person Attendees
  • Directions and Parking
    • Get directions to the UNMC Truhlsen Campus Events Center (located on the first floor of the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education, 619 S 42nd Street, Omaha, NE 68198). 
    • Parking
      • Complimentary parking is available for campus visitors in Lot 63 (off of 40th and Marcy Streets). Download map
      • If you are an employee/student of UNMC/Nebraska Medicine, please park in your regularly assigned parking area.
      • UNMC CCE is not liable for any parking ticket that a participant may incur when attending this symposium.
  • Self-screening and Mask Guidance
    • UNMC has updated its COVID-19 guidance in response to several weeks of lower COVID-19 risk levels across the state and the availability of COVID-19 bivalent boosters. 

      Masking and social distancing are recommended but optional.

      As an academic health sciences center, UNMC asks people to remain respectful of anyone who continues to mask in order to minimize their risk. Masks are recommended for individuals who are immunocompromised and/or at higher risk of severe disease, as well as those who are more comfortable masking or choose to do so for any other reason.

      We ask that you self-screen prior to coming on campus. For campus visitors, please use the 1-Check COVID app available to iOS and Android users. For UNMC/Nebraska Medicine employees and students, please use the 1-Check UNMC app.

  • The Zoom link for the live stream was sent via email. If you do not see this email in your Inbox, please check your junk email folder. If you still do not see the message, please send an email to Bailey Wrenn.
  • To join the symposium, sign in to Zoom using your first and last name.
  • Once you are in the webinar, go to the chat box and type in your first and last name so your attendance may be recorded.
